꿈이 로다. 꿈이 로다. 모두가 다 꿈이로다.

너도 나도 꿈 속이요 이것 저것이 꿈이로다.

꿈 깨이니 또 꿈이요 깨인 꿈도 꿈이로다

꿈에 나서 꿈에 살고 꿈에 죽어가는 인생.

부질없다 깨려거든 꿈은 꾸어서 무엇을 할거나..

Dreams are like that. Dreams are like that. Everything is a dream.

You and I are in a dream, and this and that are dreams.

When you wake up from a dream, it is a dream again, and the dream that is woken up is also a dream.

A life that is born in a dream, lives in a dream, and dies in a dream.

It is useless to wake up, so dream and do something..

호접몽 DREAM OF A BUTTERFLY

살아 있는 모든 것의 가장 아름다운 순간은 “소멸의 순간”이다.

소멸이 존재하기에 삶은 아름답다.

태어남을 통해 생을 얻고 소멸을 통해 죽음을 만나고

그 소멸을 거쳐 다시 태어남을 만난다.

모든 살아있는 생명들 중 인간만이 소멸을 인식하며 살아 간다.

보였으나 보이지 않고, 존재하였으나 더 이상 존재하지 않는

그 소멸의 순간을 남기고 싶어 하는 욕망의 표현이 사진이다.

모든 순간은 오래 바라본다고 해서 오래 기억 되는 것도 아니고

지나듯 스쳐 간다고 해서 금방 잊혀지는 것이 아니다.

사진 속에는 짧은 순간의 긴 기억이 있다

사람들은 자신이 보고 싶은 만큼만 볼 수 있고

자신이 듣고 싶은 만큼 만 들을 수 있다.

모든 것에서 자기 자신의 몫 만큼만 가져 간다.

아름다움을 느끼는 것도 각자 자신의 몫이고

원하는 지점이 다 다르다.

우린 같은 존재 안에서도 각자 다른 꿈을 꾼다.

내가 꾼 꿈을 사진을 통해 펼쳐 보았지만

우린 모두 다른 꿈을 꿀 것이다.

눈앞에 펼쳐졌던 아름다운 순간들은 소멸의 순간 들이다.

춤의 순간은 아름답고, 찬란한 순간을 그리며 사라져 가고

극한의 아름다움은 순간에서 소멸과 함께 멀어져 간다.

그 순간을 붙잡으려는 욕망덩어리 “사진”

사라지고 없을 허망한 그 순간에서 멈추고 싶어

쉼 없이 셔터를 누른다.

한순간 실체는 있었으나 만지지도,

다시는 꺼내 놓지 못하는 꿈같은 순간들,

아름다운 그 순간은

긴 곡선을 그리며 사라져 간다.

꿈처럼...

The most beautiful moment of all living things is the “moment of extinction.”

Life is beautiful because extinction exists.

Through birth, we gain life, and through extinction, we meet death.

Through extinction, we meet rebirth.

Of all living beings, only humans live while recognizing extinction.

A photograph is an expression of the desire to leave behind the moment of extinction that was seen but not seen, existed but no longer exists.

Not every moment is remembered for a long time just because it is looked at for a long time,

and not quickly forgotten just because it passes by.

In a photograph, there is a long memory of a short moment.

People can see only as much as they want to see,

and hear only as much as they want to hear.

They take only their own share of everything.

Each of us feels beauty for ourselves,

and the point we want is different.

Even within the same existence, we each dream different dreams.

I tried to unfold the dream I had through photographs,

but we will all have different dreams.

The beautiful moments that unfolded before my eyes are moments of disappearance.

The moment of dance is beautiful, and it draws a brilliant moment and disappears,

and the extreme beauty disappears from the moment along with disappearance.

A lump of desire to capture that moment, “photography”

I want to stop at that vain moment that will disappear and disappear,

and I press the shutter without stopping.

A moment of reality that was there but cannot be touched,

A dreamlike moment that can never be taken out again,

That beautiful moment

Fades away in a long curve.

Like a dream...

白居易(백거이)

花非花(화비화)，霧非霧(무비무)，

안개이면서 안개 아니어라.

깊은 밤 찾아와

날이 밝으면 떠나가네.

올 때는 봄날 꿈처럼 잠시 왔다가

떠날 때는 아침구름처럼 흔적없이 사라지네

It is a flower and yet not a flower

It is fog and yet not fog.

It comes in the deep night

It leaves when the day breaks.

When it comes, it comes for a moment like a spring dream

And when it leaves,

it disappears without a trace like a morning cloud

.
